Current Issues in ELT offers the participants knowledge of current issues and research findings on English language teaching and learning, language acquisition, language testing, materials development, and English curriculum and syllabus design. Including in the discussion are issues about content based instruction, bilingualism, ESP, cultural literacy, world standards, and the 21st century skills. The materials of this course are research articles, teaching practice articles, and commentary articles taken from journals, seminar, or textbooks. Completing this course, the students are expected to acquire theories, knowledge, and information used to enhance their skills in teaching English and conducting research.
